Many countries of the world have been beset with stagnant economy characterized by illiteracy, low income and low productivity; though Bangladesh has made a reasonable improvement in some social and economic activities yet large quantum of people like other third world countries is still in the grip of vicious circle of poverty; which is not desirable rather keeps the country lagging behind. For a possible and easy take off, it is necessary to take all possible efforts to brace up this large segment of people. In the Holy Qur’an Allah said, “… to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfill the contracts which ye have made, … “ (S2-177); So it is also a religious obligation for the privileged group to mobilize resources for wellbeing of the people in need.

The plight of poor kith and kin in the home country was spinning in the mind of Mr. Moyeen U Ahmed Chowdhury- a charitable Bangladeshee living in the United Kingdom tossed the idea of forming a charitable body for mobilization of resources and delivery of necessary services to uplift the quality of life of the underprivileged on the family dining table; the members of the family accepted the idea with pleasure.
